That’s a good guidelines. The best advice I’ve ever had about guest blogging “Don’t go for links. Think about other benefits like reputation, new subscribers, valuable connections”. Therefore I’ve always tried to submit my best content.

As far as guest blogging is concerned, here’s a great site I’ve had much luck with: http://myblogguest.com/ That’s a community of guest bloggers. You can find plenty of great blogs there accepting guest posts as well as authors willing to guest post.

When you write the bio line, I think it will work better if you link to one of your popular posts instead of just the homepage.

Last time I wrote a guest post, I created a welcome page, and it worked quite well

Great advice, I’ve been trying to look for websites I can guest post on to build some more traffic.

I agree with everything you say, you need to have good posts on your site, as good as the guest post if you want to keep the traffic.
