What is This FaceBook Lite? And How Does it Affect You?

Today Facebook have launched a new version of Facebook, well not  on the main site. It is a site that was supposed to be a competitor to Twitter. Facebook Lite is just normal Facebook with status updates, photos and infos – without the tests and all the other applications.

Huge improvements has been done here – Really. I like Facebook Lite much more than the regular Facebook, if it should be a social media site, which should compete with Twitter. Anyway I would never go away from Twitter and choose to use Facebook Lite. Facebook is becoming more like FriendFeed now – The design, the user functionality (lol maybe because Facebook, bought FriendFeed for a month ago).

It Actually just looks like a simplified FriendFeed, not that much worth it – anyhow it is definitely more worth than the heavy version of Facebook in my opinion. Facebook have said that it is only created for cellphones, so they can connect to Facebook fast and cheap.

Light Design is The Recipe to Success

The whole world have been all crazy about Facebook’s simple design relative to MySpace’s Design. “The already simple design is the reason to the huge success Facebook have had”- according to some Danish scientists. So now with the 100% more simpler design will Facebook be 100% more successful (if that is possible)?

I don’t think Tweeps are going to use Facebook Lite more than they use Facebook right now. Almost every Twitter does have a Facebook account and use it regularly. I also think most of the Twitter-ers who are using Facebook uses TweetDeck to manage their Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Will This Be The End of Twitter

Will this new Facebook Lite design-update be the end for Twitter? Will people be more likely to go after Facebook Lite, now when they offer something like the microblogging-service?

I guess not, Twitter is a too good network tool. Twitter is more about  businesses and so on.. Facebook is more about the physically friends + It is easier to follow another persons updates on Twitter than on Facebook – Both doesn’t have to confirm the friendship on Twitter. Unless you have deactivated Public Updates.
