How Blogging Can Give You Good Habits

By Mikkel Juhl On November 27, 2009 Under Blog Marketing, Build Your Blog

I recently recorded a video about good habits in blogging – You can watch it below.

Those who are subscribed to my YouTube channel would have seen this some days ago – anyway – so subscribe if you want the latest videos ;)

Hey nice video,

I think blog commenting is importent for exposure and traffic. If you post 10 comments everday you will get some nice traffic and it’s permanant. I mean comments are permenant and will always be available to click and read.

The good thing is that you get backlinks as well. So I suggest everyone to do it.

Alright dude,

Whats funny is I came to your blog through a comment and from what I can tell through your video you really are doing it right. Your actually reading the post or watching the videos then “adding” to the conversation.

Then you touched on how your actually doing stuff now and not surfing the net for random stuff. I’m guessing you really like what you do, your actually getting a sense of achievement from what you do.

Keep it up dude, I’m a new regular, I have a feeling your gonna be big

p.s. Great video post

Hey Mikkel,

I noticed you’ve started really getting into video lately – nice work. They’re getting much better the more you do – another great habit you’ve started. Maybe making them a bit shorter would be better, especially if you’re going to be posting more video posts more frequently – but this is just a suggestion :)

On blog commenting – I’ve started my own challenge for December that is to make 300 blog comments. It sounds like a lot but if I just comment on 10 blogs a day then I’ll reach my target.

Blog commenting has really come naturally to me but I want to push the envelope this month. ;)

Really want to connect with more bloggers, the single and best thing I’ve learned from starting blogging is the connections since starting this endeavor. You also made a great point about helping others – you can certainly do that with blog comments!

I think the pros like problogger etc would have started out doing a lot of blog comments when their blogs first started but probably don’t feel the need to do so anymore. Having said that though it would be cool to see someone like Darren Rowse or Chris Brogan etc to post a comment on up and coming blogs. It would be really encouraging.

With twitter – I’ve always been taught that you should probably tweet a max of 10-20 a day. I mean as long as your tweets are valuable and no-one is complaining you’re spamming them then you should be fine. I’m assuming most of them are @replies so you should be sweet there – you won’t appear to be spamming peoples twitters account as usually @replies aren’t displayed.

Keep up the awesome work Mikkel!

Thanks for the thoughtful comment!

I see the 300 comments marathon thing is really great. Definitely some good branding.

Like your blog a lot too!
